Puma Energy helps to ‘fuel the happy’ on Starlight Day

Puma Energy has ramped up its support for the Starlight Children’s Foundation this year, helping to ‘fuel the happy’ during Starlight Week (29 April - 5 May) by hosting a number of fundraising activities across the country.

At our head office in Brisbane, employees were encouraged to dress to impress in yellow and purple and get baking to show their support for the Starlight Children’s Foundation at our Starlight Day morning tea, where prizes were awarded for the best Starlight-themed outfit and baked goods.

Our retail sites also got involved by decorating their stores in Starlight colours and holding local events, raffles and cake stalls. More than 110 sites participated in these fundraising activities and we’re proud to announce that Puma Parkhurst, Marsden Park and Wangara were awarded for their innovative activations.

The fundraising continued with a Starlight Family Fun Day at Hamilton, Brisbane on Saturday 6 May. We were thrilled to see more than 150 people – employees, family members and friends – enjoy the jumping castle, face-painting, hoverball, raffles and sausage sizzle. The Starlight-branded Directhaul truck was a special highlight for the kids and the ‘My Dog Rules’ competition was the perfect opportunity for participants to bring along their furry friends. Thanks to the support of local businesses, valued suppliers and attendees we were able to raise additional funds for the Foundation.

Our customers were also given the opportunity to give back by simply filling up their vehicles. On Starlight Day, 1 cent per litre from all fuel sales across the country was donated directly to the Starlight Children’s Foundation. This donation, along with the money raised through our Family Fun Day and donations made to our charity boxes saw us donate more than $61,000 to the Starlight Children’s Foundation to support children in need.

Thank you to all the Puma Energy customers, suppliers and employees that helped make this possible. The money raised will enable the Starlight Children’s Foundation to bring happiness to even more sick kids through their Starlight Express rooms and wish granting programs.
